Full Mouth Rehabilitation of a Toronto Dentist with Veneers and Crowns
SMILE TRANSFORMATION WITH VENEERS IN TORONTO
OCCLUSAL ADJUSTMENT WITH DENTAL CROWNS
Before Porcelain Veneers in Toronto
This patient is one of my Dentist Colleagues. When he came for a consultation, we discussed his previous treatments and current situation. He had been dealing with composite dental bondings over the years, and because of his teeth grinding habit, he lost a lot of tooth structure.
There were minor and significant cracks nearly on all of his worn-out teeth. He had old porcelain fused metal crowns on his first molars. He was experiencing jaw pain, especially as a side effect of bruxism.

These surface issues can also be caused by excessive acidic food consumption. My dentist-patient desired to have a healthy, confident and beautiful smile. Regardless of the profession of the patient, all patients want similar things.
Digital Smile Design Planning of the Smile Transformation Patient
We get over the previous treatments I provided, and I describe the Digital Smile Design concept. Then, we decided to start with a mock-up (test-drive) experience.

I took pictures and videos of the patient and designed the treatment with Digitally Guided Dentistry. My treatment plan was to open his bite using monolithic zirconia dental crowns on his premolars and molars. After that, with dental lasers, I changed the gum line with laser gum contouring surgery. The final step of the treatment was covering anterior teeth (frontal teeth) with dental veneers.

3D Printed Temporary Dental Veneers
After designing the treatment, I sent the files and the dental impressions to my dental lab. They transfer my Digital Smile Design project to his teeth digitally. Then, using 3D Printing technologies, they printed the digital wax-up of my patient.
As a Toronto Cosmetic Dentist, I always appreciate the day and age I am performing. With the advancements in dental technologies, we can see our designs' stability and harmony before even transferring our design to our patients' mouths. This period is what a fantastic era to perform Cosmetic Dentistry and Oral Surgery!
Having a precisely planned and 3D Printed mock-up is a perfect luxury for a Cosmetic Dentist. With this mock-up in our hands, we can see the outcome of our treatment plan before starting the treatment. Also, with the guidance of the mock-up, we can be as minimally invasive as we can.
My Dentist patient was blown away when he saw himself with the mock-up. Then, without talking, I answered all his questions by showing his treatment outcome. Showing the result of a Cosmetic Treatment resolves most of the concerns of every patient.

We started the treatment. Teeth whitening can be the only thing we didn't plan because we covered the anterior for the smile makeover. The type of crowns I use in the back is Monolithic Zirconia Full Contour Crowns - a nearly indestructible material. For the anterior zone, I planned to provide nearly prepless porcelain veneers.
After the preparation of the teeth and laser gum contouring procedure, I provided chair-side temporary veneers. With the impression, I requested my dental technician to fabricate 3D printed temporary crowns and temporary veneers to use for a more extended period and be sure about the functional part of the treatment. Patients' temporomandibular joints must be comfortable with the new occlusal surface of our treatment. In addition, jaw muscles must guide the centric relation of the bite harmoniously.

Porcelain Veneers and Dental Crowns Before Cementation
After accepting the new smile and design, my dental lab started fabricating permanent crowns and permanent porcelain veneers. Fabrication of the final restorations with DSD protocol is considerably easy comparing to produce veneers without any design. Simply, the dental technician is copying and pasting the approved smile makeover to permanent Cosmetic Dentistry Restorations.
Cementation of the veneers and crowns is another crucial step of the treatment. With rubber dam isolation and using special cementation adhesives, I cement them separately. After cementation, veneers and dental crowns become stable and tough! Providing veneers in Toronto is always fun, and the best part of the treatment is to take the final pictures of the full mouth rehabilitation.

I can't stress the necessity of mouthguards to protect new restoration and teeth from clenching and grinding habits.
If you are thinking about changing your appearance, you should consult with a cosmetic dentist and see your treatment outcome before starting your treatment. In this day and age, we can provide mock-up for more than 90% of our patients. Even if we can't offer you a test-drive experience, we can show you our previous cases and treatment possibilities. Don't forget; no strings attached.
